Strap up your boots on Saturday, July 13th and stretch those legs as we take on a 7 mile round trip hike! Although the hike may seem intense, you will be rewarded with very unique flora and fauna as well as one of the most panoramic views in the Cumberland Mountains. Meet at the Sugar Run Picnic and Parking Area in Cumberland Gap National Historical Park at 9 a.m. Then join us again on July 20th on the Pinnacle View hike as this scenic trail winds along Indian Rock and a portion of the original Wilderness Road, carved by pioneer Daniel Boone. This is a 4 mile strenuous hike involving steep terrain and considerable elevation gain. At the end you will be rewarded with a 100 mile view stretching all the way to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Meet at the Thomas Walker parking area at 9 a.m. at Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. Both programs are weather permitting and be sure to pack plenty of water and snacks.
