Chained Rock
Pineville, KY
Chained Rock today is reached by a half-mile wooded trail from a mountaintop parking lot. That sounds easier than it is. By the time you get to the rock -- 200 feet long and 75 feet wide -- it's clear that climbing to the actual chain is not something for the dizzy or the weak. Nonprofit Member.

Tri-State Peak is a mountain located in the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, near the "saddle" of the gap. It gets its name from being on the tri-point of the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.
The elevation at the tri-state marker is 1,990 feet (607 m).[1] The marker can be accessed via the "tri-state peak trail," (via connections with the Gap trail and the Object Lesson Road trail) and is about 1.2 miles from the park's visitor's center.[2]
The site also includes a marker denoting the location as being on the "Royal Colonial Boundary of 1665," which was marked by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The cost to us is $30 per dog, $20 per cat. Please consider a monthly donation to help us cover this cost.

Imagine standing on a cliff, just feet from where the Cumberland River pours over a 90 feet drop; while standing on a platform at the base of the falls, crashing water sprinkles your face with a fine mist; and from the Eagle Falls Trail, overlooks high in the mountains provide breathtaking views and incomparable photo opportunities.
