Shirt-Tail Men: The Backwoods Militia of the American Revolution
Backwoodsmen, called Shirt-Tail Men among British soldiers, were feared and respected sharpshooters proudly clothed in hunting shirts. Rumored to have been General Washington’s prized combatants, these companies of men were crucial in turning the tide of battle. From engagements on King’s Mountain to the defeat of Cornwallis in Yorktown, these Virginians were revered among the cities and along the frontier. Join Captain Martin as he musters his company of Shirt-Tail Men to fight against a tyrannical king all the while creating a new nation where the bell of liberty will forever ring.
