The Genealogy Jamboree and Pioneer Day will have Genealogical societies, Historical societies, Surname Tents, Re-enactors and crafters along Colwyn Ave. and the grass area. Come and talk history with our many vendors. Most will have research material to sell. Learn how to start your own family research. We will have lectures on Genealogy and History here in Cumberland Gap. See how our ancestors made the items they needed for everyday life. Some items you can buy, such as Grammys Garden soap, Butt Naked Soap, Sweet Almond lotion stick, weaved basket, caned chairs, leather goods, items made by a blacksmith and many other items.
We are not limiting the Genealogy to the families that came to or through Cumberland Gap, Tennessee but too include all families of the United States.
While walking around don’t forget the locale shops (antique, museum, art, music, coffee and food) here in Cumberland Gap. There is an old Train tunnel and Iron Furnace on the north end of the town. And not to forget hikers, there are many trails to use.
