This 5-day program is offered to students in grades 9 - 11 and is designed to aid in the discovery of inner peace as well as to promote peace within families, neighborhoods, schools, and indeed the total Earth community.

BASIC INFORMATION

Participants will arrive at Narrow Ridge at 4pm on Sunday, July 9th and depart at 4pm on Friday, July 14th. Participants will reside in Narrow Ridge’s Strawbale Lodge where they will be served tasty vegetarian meals. The week will be filled with opportunities to enjoy nature with daily outdoor activities including working in the community garden, a day hike through Narrow Ridge’s Black Fox Wilderness, a night hike, star gazing, and a campfire.

Participants will work together on the ongoing project of creating a Peace Pole which is erected at Narrow Ridge. They will also create their own small peace pole to take home and serve as a daily reminder of their Peace for Life experience. Most importantly, friendships will be formed that will last a lifetime!

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

Participants will arrive Sunday afternoon for a time of getting acquainted with one another and Narrow Ridge facilities and leadership. Beginning Monday, each day will be themed to guide participants on their journey of discovery.

Peace for Me will give participants a variety of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual exercises to help them look at themselves in a positive manner.

Peace for Us focuses on the peacemaking process within our daily relationships and emphasizes trust as the foundation for all thriving relationships.

Peace for Everyone moves into the concepts of justice, compassionate action, equality and group empowerment.

Peace for the Planet explores how humans can work toward a mutually enhancing relationship with the rest of the Earth community.

Practicing Peace is the “now what” day where we prepare to depart and take our new knowledge and skills back to our own communities where we can help others in the peace process.

Cost: SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE for those with financial need! The cost is $500.00 for the week. Don’t let anything hold you back from participating!
