Let Wildflower Weekend whet your appetite and then join us May 10-12 as we celebrate the unique and important ecosystem of Black Mountain. As the highest point in Kentucky, it is home to many rare species of wildflowers, including painted trillium, rosy twisted stalk, purple-fringed orchid and Kentucky's largest population of Turk's cap lily. In addition, Black Mountain is home to several species of rare birds, mammals and insects.
